The first 40% of this book is a flimsy cardboard box (inside the cover) to hold the LEGO mini figure that comes with it. After you remove the character, you are stuck for the rest of the life of the book, which is greatly shortened, with an awkward and very thick cover that flips and flops around.This packaging method should be mentioned in the description and / or shown in the product photos. Many other book publishers put the character (or bonus item of whatever type) in a plastic bubble protruding out the front, which can be cleanly cut off with a knife. It is a really odd and unfortunate decision to use the cheap internal box method, and rather than regretting it forever, I returned the book. Who wants to enjoy a kids book for years to come when it flops around?
My 6 year old got this for her birthday a few months ago and loves this book. She carries it with her everywhere. She even got sick in the car and because it was with her she ruined it. We had to order it a second time and it is still carried around. My daughter is a great reader so I can tell you about every stinkin' Lego friends character without looking it up because she is constantly reading it to me. If you have a Lego fan it's a must for your collection. Unless of course you don't want them knowing how many sets are available. I'm reminded daily that we haven't bought them all yet.
My 6 year old LOVED this book. It is exactly as descibed, a character encyclopedia of all the Lego and Friends characters. The book also talks about all the Lego and Friends sets. This one was a real hit at my daughters school with girls ages 4-10. It also includes an Emily lego friend doll that is not offered in any of the lego and friends sets which is a real perk as my daugher was able to enjoy it even more. As Lego and Friends collectors, we believe this book is a great buy for any little girl who enjoys legos.
My 6 year old daughter is huge Lego Friends fan so she just loves this book. It cataloges all of the characters (well known and lesser known), the animals, and most of the Lego sets. I had my doubts for the price but it has provided her with hours of entertainment. Plus she enjoys reading more about the characters and sets that she already owns (plus making a list of the ones she doesn't!)

My daughter likes it but I am not happy that is is so outdated. Wish there was a newer one available with the sets you can buy now!
